And They Became Husband and Wife

This past weekend I was fortunate to see a friend of mine marry the love of his life. But I wasn’t just there as a guest — I helped photograph their special day.

You may remember Rich from his former contributions to this blog writing movie reviews as The Lonely Cinephile. Well, he began a new chapter of his life with his lovely bride Amanda on Saturday at a beautiful golf course in my former neck of the woods, and I teamed up with Justin to help capture every moment. The photos in this post are only a few of the hundreds I took throughout the day.

Rich and Amanda chose to see each other before the ceremony and have an intimate reveal between the two of them where they read personalized vows. They were both a ball of nerves, but those quickly melted away as they laid eyes on one another. It was an incredibly sweet moment to witness and it gave them time to just be a couple without the pressure of being watched or formalities. It also allowed them to relax and show their goofy, laid-back personalities, which always makes for better photographs. If you’re getting married soon and don’t mind breaking tradition a little bit, consider doing a first look before the wedding begins!

The wedding was simple, yet still elegant, and the weather — though it became very hot throughout the day — was perfect. Rich, Amanda, and the entire bridal party were great to work with and took everything in stride. The tone was relaxed and casual. I love weddings like that! They also made it very much about family and beautifully honored those who have passed.

Of course, one must golf when tying the knot on a golf course! It made for beautiful and entertaining photo shoots!

I’m so pleased for these two, and I’m thankful to have been a (behind-the-scenes) part of their big day. I know they’ll live a long and happy life together! Congrats, Mr. and Mrs. Mead!
