5 Filipino Beauty Brands You Should Try

The Philippines is known for its pristine beaches (and/or awful traffic), but did you know that it also has a budding beauty industry?

More Filipino brands are starting to get started, and more high quality products that suit the kayumangging kaligatan skin have been popping up!

If you ever find yourself in the little archipelago in Southeast Asia, do try out these brands. You won’t regret it!

Ever BilenaEver Bilena

This brand is like the Philippines’ answer to E.L.F. It offers a very inexpensive line of cosmetics — from foundations to BB creams to eyeshadow palettes to lipsticks. There are a lots of hits and misses, as one would expect from any brand, but overall: Ever Bilena is great!

You must try the Ever Bilena Matte Lipsticks! It’s what the brand is best known for. They’re creamy, opaque and truly matte. Plus, they sell for P165 only. That’s roughly $3.50.

Ellana Mineral Cosmetics

Ellana Minerals

This brand is the first mineral makeup brand in the country. They have everything, too! What’s great about Ellana is their color selection. They’re perfect for those who have medium to deep, yellow-toned skin. Their products are pigmented and, well, they’re also good for your skin.

You must try their foundation!

San SanSan San

Speaking of makeup that’s good for your skin, San San cosmetics have vitamins in them! Yes, vitamin-infused makeup! The brand offers inexpensive, good quality products. They need to widen their color selection, though. But still, San San is worth checking out.

You must try their HD foundation and HD nail polish.

Happy Skin

Happy Skin is also a brand that claims to make your skin better and not just on the surface. Their tagline is “Makeup that cares for your skin.” They offer “complexion-nourishing” makeup. The products have received good reviews, and have pretty much lived up to their claim. They’re on the pricier side, though, compared to Ever Bilena and San San. But still not as expensive as luxury items. The products also don’t only make you look pretty, the makeup is pretty to look at too.

You must try their Matte and Moisturizing Lippies.

Pink SugarPink Sugar

This brand launched late last year, but it already has a cult following. They have a wide range of products that are comparable to higher end brands; they have incredibly pigmented and long-lasting BB cream, powders, concealers, blushes, lipsticks and more.

You must try their eyeshadow palettes.

Have you tried other Filipino brands before? If so, let us know in the comments below.

Jorj is a young mom and wife who has an utter fascination with words. She thinks addressing herself in the third person — as in the case of author bios — is quite silly but still does it anyway. Her free time is spent on trying to read the whole Internet, playing with makeup, taking photos and writing about all sorts of beauty-related things on her blog.
