I know in a few of my recent posts I mentioned how nail polish was sort of my thing. Not sort of. Is. I have nearly 100 bottles (that’s an estimate counting the top row on my huge shelf of four rows) and my love hasn’t stopped. I have a problem!
Weeks ago I posted on my Twitter and Facebook pages, asking you readers what type of post you’d like to see here. One of you suggested the best nail colors for fall. So here I am, with recommendations and swatches of 5 types in my collection. There are certainly more I could add to the list, but I think the handful I selected are my personal favorites.
Skyfall by OPI
This was part of OPI‘s James Bond collection when “Skyfall” was in theaters. I have a few from the pack, but the shade named for the movie is my favorite. It’s like an old standby for me. Don’t know what color to paint my nails? I usually go for this one. The brick red color is great for fall’s moody weather, and it’s like having a more sophisticated option than the bright red nail look.
Normani by Zoya
This smoky pink/purple color is a great seasonal option and still provides femininity. This color came out with Zoya‘s 2014 installment of its Naturel collection, which are sets of great neutral tone polishes that work with just about every skin tone. I believe Normani to be the perfect shade for those who don’t want to attract too much attention to their nails, yet still have a color, or for a professional setting.
Saint George by A England
With autumn comes jewel tones, which are some of my favorite colors. Saint George by A England might just be its most famous and most coveted polish. Looking at the photo I’m sure you can see why. This emerald/teal holographic polish looks as deep as the ocean and makes you want to drown in it. I’ve not yet seen a similar polish that comes close to this one. You’ll be staring at your nails all day wearing such a beautiful color.
Wrapped in Rubies by Essie
Whenever I see this polish on my rack I think of fall. The ruby red with gold undertones in this Essie shade reminds me of the leaves changing on the trees. It’s also a great one to stamp a design over with gold polish or apply a bronze crackle coat over top. Wrapped in Rubies really looks best in sunlight where the gold shines through. Looks great on toes as well!
Incense Burner by A England
This brand has so many incredible colors I had to mention it twice! Incense Burner is one of my newest purchases and I adore its undertones. It’s a plum purple, but in some light you’ll see green and bronze popping through. It’s gorgeous and very classy. And like all A England polishes, the formula is like butter.
So, complete your fall outfit with the perfect manicure and one of these great nail polishes! You won’t be disappointed!
I hate to admit it, but winter IS on its way. Let me know if you’d also like to see winter polishes once the snow starts falling.
